Philadelphia is the largest city in the US state of Pennsylvania, it had a population of 1.57 million before the ZN1 Apocalypse in 2016. It’s known as the city of “Brotherly Love”.
Background[]
The City was founded in 1682 by English and Swedish settlers. The city was a bustling place home to the Liberty Bell and was once the capital of the USA.
Pre-Apocalypse[]
The city functioned like any other city with many people living and traveling around the city. Many people worked in the large buildings. At some point at the onset of the apocalypse a group of historian tried to take the Liberty Bell from Philadelphia somewhere safe but the driver died and reanimated leaving the bell in the middle of a street in the city.
Post-Apocalypse[]
The city was quickly overwhelmed and many died including many army members. Cassandra states that the city is a “Dead Zone” meaning that there are hardly any people left alive in the city and it’s mostly overrun. During Black Summer the city was hit particularly hard and many perished of hunger, one group the Philly Survivor Group was forced to use Cannibalism to survive. Their leader Tobias suffered a mental breakdown and led his "family" down the dark path of victimization and cannibalism. He also used his “daughters” as fake prostitutes so they could “lure” male survivors in and knock them out before sex and rob weapons and supplies from them. He would often tase them and abuse them. His wife was basically a ghost as she never spoke and was always frozen from her times eating human meat.
The group finds the Liberty Bell and are able to get the truck carrying it going. Warren, Garnett, and Murphy go in the truck but a runaway car swerves in front of them and causes the Liberty Bell to fly off and hit several zombies.
The Westward Survivor Group splits up in town and go after parts to contact Citizen Z. Addy and Mack go and search a cop car for a useable radio while Doc and 10k try to pry off a satellite dish while Cassandra is chased away by the Cannibals.
Eventually, the Philly group was able to kidnap Addy as she had finally contacted Citizen Z and they take her, proposing a trade to get Cassandra back. Mack gets angry at Cassandra as she’s connected to the group but she claims she doesn’t know. But the group ends up trading Cassandra for Addy. This trade prompted the Westward group to return with a plan to free Cassandra, the result of which was the utter destruction of the Philly cannibal group.
With that group seemingly overrun, no other groups were known to exist in the city.
