Lance is a main character and a survivor of the outbreak in Black Summer, making his first appearance in ”Human Flow”. He ends up traveling with Rose, Julius James, and Ryan. After being separated from them, he finds himself struggling to survive and makes it his mission to travel to the stadium, even if he has to do it alone. He is a member of Rose’s group.

Not much is known about Lance's life before the outbreak. It is assumed that he had a family with a currently unknown fate.

He was seen traveling with a survivor. However, it is unknown if this man was a member of his family or one of his own close friend
Post-Apocalypse[]
Season One[]
Before Lance's story, a young man was with his girlfriend looking for the military convoy but they got lost. His girlfriend is hit by a car and is seriously injured, forcing him to leave her. The women turns to the undead who advances in the streets and in search of victims, leading her to attack a man who was traveling with Lance, making him leave the man for dead and flee.
Like the others, he heads to the checkpoint which remains closed because of an attack, but Sun passes it and the gate falls. Lance will try to get into a black van but the driver leaves before, where Sun manages to get on board. A survivor named Rose, who is accompanied by "Spears" offers Lance and Ryan to stay with them. With the small group, they move forward and Lance sees a woman and her daughter in a car. But, Spears tells them not to approach.
They then come across another couple who are being chased by a zombie and the group goes into hiding, Ryan wants to go help but Rose prevents him. The young woman will be turned into the undead chasing the survivors. Lance follows Rose, Ryan and Spears to the abandoned school where they all take refuge. They will quickly discover that the children will torment them and Ryan will end up dead and Lance will be separated away from Spears.
He wakes up alone still locked in the school. Lance hears a noise and goes to the roof and down through the gutters. The kids bring Ryan from the roof (already a zombie). He runs away at full speed. Then, he sees a dog and stays at a store full of food. A zombie tracks him down and chases him to the fire station where he tries to defend himself with an axe but fails. He goes to a book store where a man is bitten and Lance hits him in the head, thanking him.
It will now appears that Spears' group went to steal some weapons where is Lance is actually being captured. But all the lights goes out and Rose helps Lance flee with her, while trying to escape the building. They arrive outside and Earl blocks the door behind them and goes to a cafe with Spears' group. In the stadium, he will be jostled by an explosion. It knocks him to the ground as he tries to escape from all the stray survivors, fast bullets, and the zombies.
Season Two[]
It has been months since the events of “The Stadium”. This episode opens up with Lance syphoning gas into a bucket while he tries to hide from a zombie in the distance. He heads towards his car but gets noticed by the nearby zombie. Lance begins to hurry and drive away. While driving, he gets distracted and then he notices some debris and a man on the side of the road. He ignores the man and must keep driving. But then, he slams on his own break.
By doing so, he encounters a helpless women (who is assumed to be the name of Sophie) who is standing in front of his car. Sophie who appears to be pregnant now pleas for Lance to help her. He hesitates and eventually lets her in his car. She acts appreciative and thanks him while hugging him in his own shoulders. Unbeknownst to him, she unlocks the driver's side door at the same time. The previous man that he avoided (who is assumed to be named Luke) opens the side door of the open vehicle.
Luke has to shoot Lance point blank, critically wounding him in the neck. Luke and Sophie drive off leaving Lance to die. The two couple begins to argue and they crash the car. Lance succumbs to his injury and immediately turns and begins to chase the couple. The couple run for their lives as Sophie tosses a stuffed animal out of her own shirt, proving to be not pregnant after all. As they both run from the zombified Lance, Sophie begins to push Luke.
He gets slips into the ground by some debris and Sophie flees, leaving Luke to now fight off Lance unarmed. Luke and Lance both struggle back and forth but Luke manages too flee in a car, but not before Lance climbs on the roof. Luke struggles to be driving a few miles while Lance distracts him and fights from the roof. Luke crashes the car into a barricade. Luke, temporarily escapes from Lance, and is then refused help from other survivors in the area.
Lance observes his surroundings, as a dog barks and he stares at the glass while looking from the outside. He then glances at his own reflection. Later on, Luke decides to get out at the wrecked car. He finds a building, but then someone locks the door before he can get in. He begs the woman to let him in, but they end up arguing. Luke finds a car with a gun, and he becomes relieved. As he’s about to set off, the zombified Lance smashes through his window.
