Pre-Apocalypse[]
Nothing is known about Jack prior to the apocalypse except that he was a news anchor. He acted superior to others and belittled women that could do his job equally as well.
Post-Apocalypse[]
Jack was confused about why the field team had returned so when they did he wanted to have them explain what happened and continued doing the action news coverage until Mike Renfro started showing signs of sickness. He showed shock once Mike started turning into a zombie and fled, until Mike and the producer were slowly approaching him so he tried convincing the zombie producer to stop by explaining that he was important and "face of the station". When that did not work he then tried saying that Mike was also important. He then showed his true colors as a stuck up fool when both zombies attacked him as he said that he couldn't have spent a week with homeless people like Mike had done previously.
