Before the outbreak started Dr. Harold Teller was working with his wife, Sarah Teller, studying mycology at Mercy Labs.
Dr. Teller had some connection to Dr. Edgar Caligari that likely pre-dated the Apocalypse. He can be noticed in a photograph with Dr. Caligari in Back from the Undead (S4E6).

Season 3[]
"No Mercy"[]
Dr. Harold Teller is held up at the compound of Mercy Labs together with a group of survivors. Harold ends up killing his wife, Dr. Sarah Teller, out of mercy. He is later kidnapped by The Man for an unspecified reason.

"Warren's Dream"[]
Harold is seen approaching Murphy and Warren and tells them they need to see something.
"Escape from Zona"[]
Harold Warns Murphy and Warren that the people at Zona are turning insane and that they need to leave. Eventually, Harold himself turns insane and is killed out of mercy by Murphy.
