Hannibal, Missouri is a town that is visited by the Westward-Bound Survivors as they journey towards California. They stop here after leaving Castle Point, Missouri which is about 110 miles apart from each other. They most likely went North so they could find a bridge to cross the Mississippi.
Pre-Apocalypse[]
The city was founded in 1819. The town was a port along the Mississippi, North of St. Louis. The town was home of the famous writer Mark Twain.
Post-Apocalypse[]
The town fell to ruin like nearly all other towns and cities and was quickly overrun by the undead. At some point the Cult of the Resurrected became a prominent group in the city and would manipulate people into believing that zombies were some type of god’s will. A military outpost formerly a prison was also prominent in the town called Province Town led by Major Joe Williams, he kept survivors safe and the small safe zone going for a long while. In 3AZ the group arrives in the town. According to Lt. Hammond’s map a re supply post was marked in the town and the group end up going to Province Town to rest and re supply.

The group is originally told to go away but Major Williams lets them in after recognizing Garnett from when he served in the national guard. The Major tells him how he hasn’t seen anyone East of the Mississippi in years. They let the group in but they are forced to check their weapons leaving them defenseless. Shortly after they let the group in 3 of the Cultists claim that they want to “come back” after leaving Province Town and joining the cult. Major Williams allows them to rejoin the community if they’re clean. 10k seemed interested in the girl Mary. Major Williams tells them how the town used to allow weapons but after an husband shot his wife’s boyfriend which caused him to turn killing many people, they banned them. Another time happened where a trainee took a gun off a guard and that caused another 7 deaths. This resulted in the complete ban of all weapons in Province Town. By the time the group arrived the town hadn’t seen any deaths for a whole year. The town also had a large garden for food and a biomass generator to power the whole community using food scraps and waste. The community had a preacher named Jacob who was deranged person who believed the zombie apocalypse was the second coming, Province Town had to kick him out along with his followers awhile back. Major Williams also tells Warren and Garnett that he’s secondhand heard that huge hordes ranging in the millions where spotted in the west preventing many to travel to the west such as California. Garnett says that they will still try to get to California even with the mega herds. Garnett asks if Williams would come with them but he says that the folks in Province Town rely on him, he shakes Garnett’s hand and says that he would consider going with them to California and let them know the next day. He offers them some rooms and a few beds in the community center for the night. The group lets Garnett and Warren have the room to themselves. The two go back to the room to have sex.
However, Jacob and his Cult begin their approach on Province Town planning to kill and zombify the population of it. Shortly after the three cultists who returned back to Province Town begin to commit suicide, Patrick stand up on the cafeteria table and tells the people that Jacob will save them and that they will join the Resurrection Church, right after giving the speech he slits his throat with a hidden knife in the cross and he reanimates, quickly Zombified Patrick begins to devour people and reanimate them. At the gate Mary and Luke appear also killing themselves Mary slashes her abdomen open, Cutty sees this and tries to help her however she reanimates and bites Cutty killing her and turning her. Jameson helps find Luke something in his ammo bag when he sees Cutty get killed he asks Luke to help him but he’s already slit his throat and reanimates. Jameson pulls Cutty away but it’s too late and the two zombies devour Jameson, leaving the gate defenseless. While Garnett and Warren are having sex they hear someone banging on the door of their room, they tell it to go away but it doesn’t so they check to see what it is and it’s a zombie. It pushes Garnett down to the bed and Warren beats it with a lamp. The lamp shatters and Garnett grabs it by the head and bashes it into the wall killing it.
Chaos erupts all over Province Town with zombies attacking countless numbers of people and reanimating them. The Cafeteria is overrun with many zombies chasing about civilians and the Group. Addy finds Zombified Patrick who had killed himself and put him down with an egg beater she found in the kitchen. Garnett and Warren Cautiously leave their room holding books as a weapon. They kill a zombie that charges at him and they run into Joe Williams who explains that Jacob attacked the community by using the suicide sheep to start a zombie attack. The suicidal cultists also tampered with all the doors so they wouldn’t shut right. Major Williams is in shock and tells them that all of the weapons are at the gate and there are no other ones inside the community. Suddenly Mack, Doc, Addy, and Cassandra find Garnett and Warren. Warren asks where Murphy and 10k are but they have no idea. Major Williams tells them to get to the emergency exit that leads to outside the compound. Major Williams stays back to try and save some of the people in the community. Murphy encounters one of the townspeople named Madeline, she promises to help him if they work together. However, a large group of zombies enter the room they were hiding in and Murphy abandons her leaving her to be devoured by them.
The Group run to the emergency exit as well as surviving townspeople of Province Town, however the door has been blocked by a cross placed by the Cult, with many zombies pursuing them. People begin to be eaten and bitten by the zombies will the group freaks out. Thankfully 10k removes the cross and opens the door for the group to get out, but no other people survive to make it out. The group tries to figure a way out of there but suddenly Brother Eli appears and orders the group to come with them, Cassandra and 10k are able to run away while being shot at.
Jacob tells them that they can either join his church or become one of the Resurrected, Garnett sees the Zombified version of Major Joe Williams and is saddened by the loss of him.
Most of the group is captured by the resurrection cult.
Garnett protests to Jacob that this was a peaceful place before he attacked it, and Jacob says it’s his turn to join the Resurrected. He pulls out a knife hidden in his cross and prepares to kill him, Warren yells for him not to and they hit her with a gun, she tells him that she’s going to kill “you psychotic bastard”, which he says you won’t be far behind your Charlie. Brother Jacob puts a knife to Garnetts throat and Garnett begs him to not hurt the others. Suddenly everyone hears a “STOP” from the zombie cage and Murphy walks out, the zombies do not attack him. Murphy tells him that zombies are not closer to heaven, Jacob says that you’re a human and not resurrected. Murphy tells them how 8 times he was bitten and how he didn’t turn. Murphy claims that Jacob is a false prophet and tries to get the other Cultists to betray him. Jacob orders his men to kill him and Jacob asks the “Blasphemer” to prove it. He grabs the dead Major Joe Williams and puts his fingers in his mouth, when the zombie does not bite him it proves that he in fact is immune. However Jacob is still in denial, Jacob gets a gun and says that a blast to the heart will prove that he is truly “dead”. Warren screams “NO” and pushes Jacob, Jacob prepares to shoot Murphy but Garnett jumps in front of him taking the bullet. He falls to the ground, 10k snipes Jacob in the shoulder and kills Brother Eli. Warren runs over to Garnett and she says he’ll be ok but he says he loves her and wants her to go and live. He dies and Warren is pulled away by the group as she begs to give him mercy. Cassandra brings the truck over and they quickly drive away. Garnett reanimates, and later Warren orders them to stop the car. She takes 10k’s sniper and gives Garnett mercy, she then shoots Jacob in the heart killing him. Shortly after he reanimates and begins to attack his cult members.
They then drive away in silence and shock leaving Hannibal and the ruins of Province Town for good.
