"Sisters of Mercy"[]
Darren was in the survivor group that included Butcher and Tattoo Guy, along with a couple of women who were slaves of the trio.
They were lured into a trap by the Sisters of Mercy along the roads in Utah, near the Sisters Of Mercy Camp.
Darren's luck comes to an end when Helen ordered the the Sisters of Mercy chain the men together.
He tries to persuade the women that he is only with the others because he had no other choice, but none of them believed him.

Helen chooses Darren out of the three men to be killed. Helen commands Addy to shoot him, however Addy is conflicted about whether to shoot him or not. Helen then successfully manipulates Addy into shooting him. He turns into a zombie and starts to attack his fellows. He was probably given mercy by the Butcher.
